Mottarone, the colours of autumn foliage

That is the magic of the autumn foliage that enchants those who stroll in woods and parks in October and November.
But what exactly is autumn foliage? It is a natural phenomenon indicating the change in the colour of the leaves of trees in autumn. Before falling, they turn from green to yellow, then orange, red and brown on account of chlorophyll, a precious substance that captures sunlight. During the autumn season, when the leaves grow old, the chlorophyll is returned to the roots, thereby decreasing its quantity in the leaves and giving rise to this splendid phenomenon through which nature dresses itself in heartwarming shades.
The Mottarone is one of the perfect destinations to enjoy this natural spectacle. Centuries-old woods of fir, pine, larch, beech and chestnut are coloured with practically endless tones, transforming an already enchanting panorama into picture postcard images.
Walking boots and a mind free to relax are all you need to enjoy this wonder. Indeed, we should never forget that, in addition to smartphones and cameras, for its views to be captured, the landscape should be admired above all with the heart. Only in this way can you gain a real benefit from the magic of foliage and nature, which gives us unique colours and panoramas every year.
And if you cannot climb the Mottarone, then you can travel with the pictures taken by the @parcodelmottarone community 😉
Enjoy the foliage everybody!
